The March 29th RGVAHC meeting was called to order at 3:45 pm at the home of Yvonne and Rick Knowland. Yvonne Knowland, Marlene Foale, Mary Gregory, Peggy Hyde, Caroline Villarreal, and Alayne Villarreal were in attendance. The topics that were discussed are as follows:

1. We will be involved in a horse exhibition on May 2nd at Winks in Olmito, TX. We will perform in English, Western Native Costume, and Halter. Anyone that is interested in bringing their horse should contact Yvonne or Marlene. The event will run from 4 - 7 pm.

2. We will have a Region 9 membership drive starting soon. There are incentives with AHA for chapters that increase membership and we are soliciting all RGVAHC members to make a commitment to help us increase our membership.

3. The next open horse show will be held on April 18th at the Rodriguez Arena in San Benito. We have two loyal helpers that will be leaving the Rio Grande Valley and we are therefore in need of more volunteers. It was discussed that an e-mail should be sent out to the membership that would encourage them to volunteer.

4. A free youth clinic has been scheduled for April 4th at the Villarreal Stables. All youth and parents are encouraged to attend. Peggy Hyde will be the instructor and will discuss etiquette in the show ring. We have several youth signed up.

5. The next meeting of the RGVAHC is scheduled for Thursday, April 16th at 5 p.m. at the home of Yvonne Knowland (Rising K Ranch). All members are encouraged to attend.
